Will Trapper Out
09 December 2009
Will Trapper has been robbed of the chance to defend his Aldebaran Park Bill Collins Trotters Sprint title on Friday night because of injury
Reigning Aldebaran Park Stud Bill Collins Sprint champion Will Trapper has been denied the chance to defend his crown at Tabcorp Park on Friday night.
The John Noonan-trained eight-year-old was this morning scratched following a minor paddock mishap.
Will Trapper's regular reinsman Todd Matthews said the son of Keystone Salute had "some filling" in his leg following a minor bump and was awaiting a veterinary report to determine the extent of the injury.
The accident is not expected to significantly hinder the gelding's overall preparation, but will preclude him from taking his place on Friday night.
The $50,000 Group 1 feature still boasts a crack line-up, including boom trotter Skyvalley, who has drawn barrier three, and last week's SEW-Eurodrive Australian Trotting Grand Prix winner Sundons Gift, who drew 10.
Runners will leave the arm for the 15th edition of Victoria's most prestigious trotters' sprint at 8.40pm.
